👋 Hey, I’ve created a simple Journaling app for iOS and macOS with AI reflections and science-backed prompts!
Here's the problem I had, and the solution I built:
😤 Problem
Journaling is key for me to regulate my emotions and clear my mind. I struggled to find a good journaling app that I could use on any device and offered AI suggestions for myself. I tried many, but they were either too intrusive, too complex, or not visually appealing. Additionally, I wanted something that was truly anonymous. Pasting entries into ChatGPT was not cutting it even though it provided immense value for me. Why did the Apps even need to have my email? I was frustrated by the cluttered UIs and/or a lack of anonymity to truly let go when I was trying to improve my mindset or get clarity in my thoughts.
So I scratched my own itch. I created Innerly to offer a private, multi-platform, AI-powered journaling experience that respects anonymity as much as possible.
🤩 Solution
Write like no one is looking
Innerly only allows creating an account using Apple Sign In and encourages you to use the Hide My Email feature to stay anonymous. Your writings are always encrypted and aren’t used to train AI models. Unfortunately end-to-end encryption cannot be used with the most powerful AI models at the moment. AI systems need access to the data to work and local AI models still sucks on consumer phones. I look forward to that day though.

I wanted it to look more than just a Notes app. Innerly offers customizable font and ability to frame and save your entries for posterity using one of the designs from the collection.

Love this! I feel like Apple missed the boat with their Journal app. Innerly is super easy to use and is very intuitive. It's nice that you give people the opportunity to try out the product before needing to sign up or create an account, that's refreshing. Thanks for building this.
