Hipcamp is my go-to app for finding camping spots. What I love about it is the variety of campsites available. It is easy to use and I find it unique to see different camping styles in the filter feature! I'm looking forward to doing another camping trip with this app.
We experienced a bed bug problem with one of the listings and Hipcamp did not do anything to compensate. They still charged us fees for god's sake. They also did not require proof of extermination and there are no policies in place requring hosts to regular mitigate for pest control in cabins. We will never use it again. Buyer beware!
We made a reservation with Hipcamp for our 27' travel trailer two weeks in advance. However just two days before we were to arrive they let us know that our camper was too long. The ad stated 35' length max. To our surprise they include the "towing vehicle" (truck) in that! Then they charged us an 18% cancellation fee....
Poor app difficult to use. Admin behind this is woeful uncaring unhelpful dishonest and greedy. It feels like an IT business with outsourced help desk who know nothing. Be careful spending your money as you won’t get it back if you ever have to cancel, despite what they tell you.
Made it so easy to filter for the type of trip I wanted. Customer support responded really quickly and being able to talk to the host directly was great.
Diverse inventory for different types of outdoor stays. Also provides diversified revenue streams to small farmers and ranchers, which is something that I can get behind.
