Gowalla is a nicely made product, but it needs to hit a critical mass amongst friends and neighbors for it to be useful. I also would have like to have gotten some friendly nudges when other folks found my locations useful, it might encourage me to mark more places.

Congratulations on the (re) launch! To be honest, I was unaware of this app - although I've been using similar ones for many many years - but I'll definitely give it a try. I'm not sure how popular this was in my country but how knows? Maybe now it's the time. ..and may I ask for an Athens (Greece) icon to choose from? Again, all the best!

True story, Gowalla was instrumental in meeting my wife. I used it to plan our first dates and it really impressed her at the time. I hope it brings some of the original features back like the ability to leave designated messages to friends. :)

I was a happy Gowalla user the first time around. When it ended, I moved to 4sq, who promptly let their product stagnate for years. I hope the New Gowalla can bring back the easy fun of social location sharing. Good luck!
