We are amazed and humbled by all the interest. We are adding new features this week and we will announce them here. There are a few things that differentiate us from others. Comparing with Gift Cards: a Charity Gift Cards has many similarities to a store Gift Card but instead of buying something you redeem it for a charity. A charity gift card is an indicator of control over a small donor-advised fund. The purchaser of the charity gift card creates the donor-advised fund with the charity gift card purchase money. When the charity gift card recipient “spends” the gift card, the recipient is in actuality advising the holder of the associated donor-advised fund (typically the charity that issued the charity gift card) to send the money to the charity that the charity gift card recipient selects. Comparing with tradition giving: you can always give directly to a charity but what we are proposing is give to charity but let someone else make the choice. This doubles the values of the gift because you make two recipients happy: the charity and the gift receiver. It raises awareness and also increasing the amount donated. The receiver can also send his own Charity Gift Cards. All contributions are distributed by the GoodCoin Foundation. The GoodCoin Foundation is an IRS-registered 501(c)(3) public charity that partners with GivtCards to ensure that charitable giving is simple, easy and secure. The GoodCoin Foundation finds and vets the charities in our database, as well as distributes your donations in a timely manner. All the Charity Gift Cards are tax deductible.
