Plant trees, boost focus and make the most of your time

Forest helps you stay focused by planting virtual trees. When you want to focus, plant a tree and avoid using your phone. The tree grows as you stay off your device. Stop distractions, increase productivity, and do something good for yourself and nature.
In today’s hyper-connected world, staying focused can feel like a real challenge. Social media, notifications, and endless distractions constantly pull us away from the things that matter. That’s why we created Forest — to help people reclaim their time, improve focus, and build better habits in a fun, gentle, and rewarding way.
Forest turns your moments of focus into a small act of growth. Whenever you want to concentrate, you plant a virtual tree. The longer you stay away from your phone, the more your tree grows. But if you exit the app to check something else — the tree withers. This simple visual feedback creates a powerful incentive to stay present and productive.
What makes Forest special is that your virtual focus can also make a real-world impact. We’ve partnered with tree-planting organizations so that when users earn virtual coins, they can contribute to planting real trees around the world. So while you grow a digital forest, you're helping reforest the Earth.
We’re proud to say Forest has helped millions of users find balance, focus deeply, and build healthier digital habits — one tree at a time. We hope it helps you too.
Forest started as a weekend experiment. I was struggling with staying focused while working remotely, constantly switching tabs and checking my phone.
I thought — what if focus could feel like progress? What if you could see it?
So we built Forest: stay focused, and you grow a tree. Stay distracted, and the tree dies. Simple, visual, and strangely motivating.
We’ve been using it ourselves every day—and we’d love to see how you use it too. 🌳
Thanks for checking it out!
I’ve always been fascinated by habit-building and behavior design. Forest came from a personal need: I wanted something gentle yet effective that encourages deep work.
The idea was to merge visual progress (a tree growing!) with actual productivity. Over time, we added real tree planting partnerships too 🌍
If Forest helps even one person feel a little more in control of their time, it’s a win. Would love your thoughts and ideas.
