Hi guys!
My name is Jeff and I’m the CEO/Founder of Flurry.
We made Flurry so that teenagers could connect with each other and with their favorite social media stars in a safe environment. Teens can interact with text chat, emojis, stickers and virtual gifts. Teens can purchase the virtual gifts and paid stickers to show their admiration for other users and get noticed. The most popular users earn money through our revenue share program.
Flurry combines live streaming with the ability for viewers to have a FaceTime-like video chat with the broadcaster. This creates a sense of intimacy for the viewers and makes Flurry feel more like “something you do” than “something you watch”.
We’ve been really excited to see the growth of Flurry over the past ~3 months since it was released. We’re also really flattered that Apple decided to feature the App on the home screen of the App Store over the past few days.
Keep the feedback coming!
@rrhoover - We introduced Flurry quietly into the App Store in mid-march, so before some of the other more recent apps you mentioned above.
@frankjath - you’re right that the demo is young. Most of our users are 13-21 years old.
@jasonology - The $79.99 bundle is one of the more expensive in-app purchases we offer. The lower-priced bundles start at $0.99.
I downloaded it and played around with it for a little while. Looks nice however I think their demo is younger than millennials. Apparently most of the people on there are teen social media stars who have somehow gained massive followings. I have no idea who they are, makes me feel old lol.
