I want to introduce Expressive Animator, our SVG animation software for Windows and macOS, designed to help users bring motion to the web.
Why SVG? Because SVG is a great format for web animations: it is small in size, standardised, and widely supported across all major browsers. SVG animations can be powered by SMIL, CSS, or JavaScript, and Expressive Animator supports all three formats.
The SVG animations made with CSS and SMIL are particularly great because users can embed them into webpages using the img tag or set them as background images. Those made with JavaScript are ideal in scenarios where you want more interactivity and control over the animation (e.g., start on click).
Although Expressive Animator is built primarily for SVG animations, it provides other export options, such as Lottie, GIF, APNG, and video (MP4 and WebM). You can import vector graphics from SVG, PDF, and AI files or create your own using the built-in vector tools. We also support PNG, JPEG, and WebP raster formats.
