I really struggle with music discovery! I'm terrible at it!!
I think I'll try this out :)
@ivosabev what was the inspiration here?
Do you think a preview can give enough of a taste of the song? I'm still in two minds about it!
When you have built up your collection of songs you like, are you integrated with Apple Music/Spotify to then add them to your music app of choice?
@bentossell, I really struggle with music discovery myself, and I think most of us feel the same way. There is so much music out there that we ultimately just cannot decide what to listen to. Then comes Spotify with their magical algorithms or Apple Music with their divine curation, and they say "don't worry we will take it from here and you will listen to what we tell you". But I think they forget that ultimately you are the judge and you are the one that has to decide if you like what you hear or not, and there is no shortcut.
So we made Enso and we mixed the best of all worlds - curation, algorithms and your choice to create the music discovery experience that we all deserve.
Q: Do you think a preview can give enough of a taste of the song? I'm still in two minds about it!
This is a bit controversial. Of course, 30 seconds are not enough to really feel and appreciate the music. To really fall in love with something you have to hear it again and again, and only then you can really decide. But few seconds are enough to say "NO" or "MAYBE". And if you swipe left and give it a "NO" we will make sure you never get bothered by this song again, because we value your time and opinion. And if you swipe right and give it a "MAYBE", then we add it to a playlist, which you can listen to later more carefully and give your ultimate verdict.
And if you really fall in love with something in those few seconds, we have integrated YouTube, so you can watch the music video on the spot.
Q: When you have built up your collection of songs you like, are you integrated with Apple Music/Spotify to then add them to your music
Yes, it is a two step process, where the first step is to find it on Enso and the second is to enjoy it on your favorite streaming service. We have already integrated Spotify and we are working hard to bring the rest like YouTube, Apple Music, Deezer.
We would also love to work with services like BandCamp, where the real music gems are hidden. We really want to help the indie artists shine and find their fans, because if you are featured on one of those Spotify playlists, you are already discovered and don't need much of our help. So in a way you can say Enso is like ProductHunt for music :)
Thanks!

@ivosabev you have convinced me to download this for sure...
I agree, even others tastes and recommendations don't quite fit mine.
I like that it goes into a playlist for review later, I think that's something I'll really enjoy using.
Will have to download spotify to get the seamless integration then :)
I'll let you know how I find the app after using it!
@ivosabev Do you HAVE to log in via Facebook? Seems the only way at the moment but I don't have my Spotify account linked with Facebook (and don't like linking much with it anyway)... any other options in the pipeline?
@bentossell we chose Facebook, because of convenience. No one needs yet another username and password to remember. But yeah we will add all options as we grow the product. Just as Spotify, Facebook login as quick way to realize your idea and give it to the people for the much needed validation.
I am one of the beta testers and I did discover some nice music. It could still use a lot of improvements, but that's exactly why Enso needs you. Download it, play with it and ask Enso to improve it!!!!
@chrisgeorgiev That is exactly the idea. We want to bring back that feeling of excitement that people had when browsing through piles of vinyl in the local records shop.
