Long time user of Clyp, really enjoy how easy it is to record and share audio.
Clyp has stayed focus on the audio clips and the creators uploading them, steadily building a community.
We're using the free version of Clyp, however they deleted the account without any prior notice. We offered to purchase the premium account to get our data back, however they are not communicating. Worse service ever.
The Clyp team is constantly rolling out new features and improvements, so you can tell they care a great deal about delivering value to their user base. They're not just resting on their laurels expecting people to adopt their platform.
The Clyp team continues to improve user interface and functionality making it so easy to use. Their founders continue to work endlessly on making the best product possible for creators. Great work Clyp!
When I first heard of Clyp I thought it was a fun idea but didn't really 'get it' as to why it needed to exist over Soundcloud, Dropbox, etc. But after using it once it totally clicked. Its the way uploading and sharing an audio file should be. I've used it for fun and also in professional work. The ease of use, for creator and consumer, means it takes about a minute to go from song being exported from Ableton to being emailed to a friend, ready to DL. The clear, uncluttered GUI also means it can be used professionally without having to worry about clients getting turned off. I haven't explored too much of the rest of the site or community because I just use it as a workhorse: get in, upload, get link, get out. And in that regard, the core function of the product, this is the best solution I've seen for audio creators.
As a music nerd with a lot of friends in the music industry both amateur and professionally, I can see how this would be a great weapon in the arsenal of music production tools and techniques.
