I've followed the team since OneSub (still using that). I believe Charlie - a new front end - will help people get a good overview of the news in a personalised manner. Well done and keep it going.
Thanks Chris! I think you're absolutely right. With all the amazing feedback we've had this week we're going to take what we - and Charlie - have learned and use it to revamp the OneSub homepage etc.
One of the things OneSub always struggled with was communicating the hyper-personalisation in a way that didn't flummox and confuse the reader. In a way, Charlie started out as an experiment to solve that UX challenge...
This is the first news app I’ve actually used for more than five minutes, and have been using for a bit now - so far, so good, and I feel like I gain perspective every time I open the app.
Thanks Vivek - thrilled to hear you love the concept! 🙌 I would love to know what we can do to improve Charlie and earn a 5-star review? What does Charlie need for those last two stars? 🌟🌟
I actually started using Charlie yesterday and I'm really impressed at how well it works even at this early stage.
A bit like texting a mate to tell you what's happening in the news, but your mate has checked all the sources, can show them to you, and then answer questions you have.
It's not 100% yet, a few little grammar/syntax errors as it pulls from sources but impressively nothing that breaks it or the experience.
5* from me because I believe in the mission, and it's one of a very few news apps with lofty goals that actually seem to deliver on them from the get go.
I'm excited to see how Charlie learns and improves as I use it, and more users come on board.
Thank you so much Geraint. You're absolutely right - Charlie is learning all the time so when today is over we'll spend the rest of the weekend looking at all the things they didn't understand.. and retraining for a better tomorrow. 🙌
I've loved using Charlie to manage the way I read the news. The insights are so helpful, and I love the way that I get to see the news from outlets I wouldn't usually go to, without having to leave the app. Can't wait to see more from the team!
