Auphonic is easily one of the best tools for podcasters. I use it so much for the Go For Launch podcast (http://www.goforlaunch.io/podcast) that I've become a paying customer to get more processing credits!
As @helmi says, this is a good send for podcast producers!
It can automatically clean your sound by removing background noise, levelling the audio, adding your predefined intro/outro. It also allows you to configure which media servers you want the resulting audio to be sent.
I have found the smartphone app combined with an irig mic is a nice mobile setup which allows you to easily produce high quality podcasts instantly as well.
You can try it out for free - allowing you 2 hours per month, after which the price plans are quite reasonable (e.g. $1-3 per hour of processed audio) & flexible (recurring or pay-as-you-go).
Not to mention I have found the support team behind the product are extremely helpful & quick to deal with any issues!
Auphonic is a real great service for Audio post production, especially for podcast publishers. It's highly automated and has great algorithms to optimize your audio quality. It is even able to automatically process multichannel audio files. It works well with some publishing platforms like the free and open source Podlove podcast publisher (http://www.producthunt.com/tech/...) too.
