A simple application that allows you to generate various copy with just a prompt. Its use ranges from summarizing long text, answering questions, completing thoughts and writing articles. The tool is powered completed by OpenAI's GPT-3 algorithm.
@chrismessina This is one of those questions I get that I don't have the complete answer to... GPT-3 is trained on parameters from the internet so I think there is a chance it can pull from content that should be properly referenced... From my interview with OpenAI, I get from them that the intention is never to pass off content generated without mentioning that it is from an AI. In other words, you shouldn't pass it off as your own work... So the kind of stuff they approve will reflect just that.
@campbellsinvestment but looking at the screen recording, it appears that the person is copying and pasting from random pages on the web and then the Ghost Writer is constructing new content based on those inputs... is the result not a derivative work? If not, then I have a hard time seeing how copyright law will serve any purpose going forward. And I'm not sure if that's good or bad.
@campbellsinvestment@chrismessina The AI takes context from the input but not "content". From my tertiary knowledge it's not plagiarised if you reference your work... but this is when I am writing an official paper. When I am writing a blog, if I read another blog and get an idea, am I plagiarising?
I am not too familiar with copyright law but reference should be made by the authors using the work. As you can see it is not an automatic process but manual and it should just be an aid to a writer. The writer is still responsible to reference properly.
@ze_rusty Hi Sachin, I know... I did start with three (3) attempts but it got abused and I still have to pay for everything at OpenAI so that because expensive... Sorry about that.
@campbellsinvestment Couple of feedbacks-
1. The signup form requires a bit of restructuring to improve the UX:
2. On the click on LOGIN IN FIRST, you can directly open the Login Popup. Currently buttons are clickable but nothing happens.
3. It's worth giving some test credits so that user can see how effective is the tool. Currently no way to test without making a payment. ShowStopper.
@campbellsinvestment@geniusdibya #1. Username was intended #2. Thank you for the great feedback.. I will make the changes.
3. Currently one test (which the app offers) affords the user up to 2000 credits... I think that is fair plus I have placed videos demonstrating what the app can do. I really would love to do more but the truth is it's not feasible right now.
Thanks @campbellsinvestment. But, I was not able to even test once for free, app says to buy credits. You can use tools like Hotjar to see the user journey on screen.
@campbellsinvestment@geniusdibya I also didn't get to use my 1 free attempt, it shows that I have 1 attempt after signing up, but it doesn't let me use it. I'm directly asked for payment when I hit the "complete" button after signing up. That free attempt gets lost somewhere between signing up and signing in.
@campbellsinvestment@geniusdibya@dogukano I have now increased the attempts to 3 for the rest of today for those that sign up after this since so many have asked for it... Send me an email as well with your sign up email so I can have yours increased.
