Hey all, I started working on Tender a year ago to help with my anxiety around my spending habits while funemployed last year. I wanted a way to convince myself that my spending wasn’t out of line, and my money wasn’t just disappearing into the void. Tender was my answer - a way to get myself to be more mindful of spending without worrying that I’d miss something. Some feature highlights: 🚄 A seriously fast UI that runs locally and supports mobile and offline mode ⚡ Keyboard shortcuts, bulk editing, and undo/redo for max product️ivity 💸 Get notified when the amount on your bill changes 🦾 A rules engine for quick automation 🤝 A Splitwise integration for easy splits for group trips, roommates, or your partner 🔐 Secure storage, sync, and login (we ONLY support biometric and google login to prevent phishing) 📥 Integrations with 12k+ banks via plaid (US/USD only for now) We’re running Tender as an independent, bootstrapped business so we can really put our users first. Tender is a paid app, and it means we never show you ads, never sell your data, and never compromise the product for the sake of investors. Right now, we’re offering discounted pricing for our early adopters - $4.99/month or $49.99/year (2 months free). I’m really excited to share what we've been working on! @max_savonin1 - thanks for the note! We thought a little bit about how a free version might work, but we didn't want to compromise our ideals on it. For instance, the subscription fee we charge covers our on-going costs - for instance, linking with user's bank accounts comes with recurring fees for us. It's possible we could do a free version of the product that doesn't come with bank integrations if there's demand for it, but we suspect most folks want the automatic bank import.

@tony_xiao thanks! no api yet.. any thoughts on what you'd want do with one? Since we're building the app to work locally on your device, it's a bit tougher to say how we might support API-like interactions. We have a fledgling mobile support with our web app (works well with "add to home screen" tricks on ios/android: https://tender.run/install), but no plans for native app right now. We're hopeful that we can build a good mobile experience with the web platform.

@stpnwn I'd want to use it to get data in / out of the system. Hmm is data not stored in the cloud at all? And if it's local only data what about backup? And finally perhaps there can be a local API?

Congrats on the launch! Do you have plans to add tax calculation and for example a possibility to submit a tax self-assessment form? Do you have plans to cover the UK and Europe? I would recommend using GoCardless instead of Plaid in this region

@laocool Thank you! We've been thinking about international expansion and when it makes sense to tackle - we actually just added a waitlist form on the website to gauge interest. In particular, we'll probably start with support for multiple currencies (my banks are in the US, but I spend euros too sometimes!) and then move into adding more banking partners.

Congrats on the launch! I’ve been using Tender for about a month now and it’s a joy to use, going local-first makes such a tangible difference to how it feels as a user (compared to e.g. QuickBooks Online, which is dreadfully slow)

It's interesting - for a bit I thought folks wouldn't care about the local-first angle as a technical detail, but I've been pleasantly surprised from the excitement about how fast we can make the app feel when there's no lag clicking around in it.
