I love to build tools that improve the quality of our daily work, and I hope Radiance Voice Extension will be one of them. 😄*Why did we make this?* All of us spend the majority of our time on web apps that help us work such as Sheets/Excel or Word/Docs, Notion/Confluence, Jira/Basecamp, Figma, Miro, Hubspot, Zoho, Salesforce, Gmail, etc. Many times we want to explain to others what we think about something on our screen, like a dashboard, a customer's account, or many times, the apps that we ourselves are building. I thought if there were a way to create voice notes straight from the browser and share them with others, the other person could listen to it in their own time, as opposed to getting on a call and discussing things. 🤨*What's so different about this extension?* How many times do keep your camera off in our online meetings? I think many times. Especially if we do it routinely. If you had to show your face every time you wanted to pass on a thought, it would be quite an effort to keep your hair well-kept😉 Well, a voice recording extension with a screen recording option, but without a webcam. It will make you feel comfortable while conveying your real thoughts to others. Not just that, each recording carries the link, the icon, and a screenshot of the page. This way, the reference to the page where you recorded is never lost. 🖥*Will it impede my browser working area?* It won't because it only slides into your view when you cover on a very tiny arrow that's on the left corner of your screen. 💼*How can I integrate this into my workflow?* Simply record a voice/screen note over any webpage, and start by sending to others the link to your recording. Once you feel you have gotten a hang of it, you can create a team using either Google or Slack. With a Google team, any coworkers that you add will get an email when you post a recording to this team. With Slack, you will be able to automatically post the recording content to your selected Slack channel. 🌈*What is your roadmap for new features?* Well, I have many thoughts, but I mostly want to know from you, how you inculcate the extension in your work. Once I understand that I will update the roadmap and publish it. Please feel free to DM me if you think of anything in particular or have any questions. 🔒Where do the recordings go? Because we wanted to make the recordings sharable over the internet, the recordings go to the cloud. The way the mechanism works is that as you start the recording, the extension streams the data upward into the cloud. We keep our working environment (staging and UAT) separate from production, which is secured by firewalls and is free from any manual hands. I promise that nobody has any intent to play with the system to be able to see your data. We take privacy very seriously. 🎬Where do I watch the recordings? That's one thing I wanted to improve as compared to other recorders. You will be able to watch/listen to your recordings through the extension on any website! I'd love your comments on this.
