Transform your LinkedIn network into an organized, searchable database. Tag your connections, add notes and reminders to individual profiles - and never forget how you met.
Hi folks, I'm excited to share my first full solo project - Pollen for LinkedIn!
If you use LinkedIn, you'll know the problem Pollen is solving - you have hundreds (or thousands) of connections, but you can't remember who the hell they are, or why you ever connected to them. Did you meet them at that conference two years ago? Didn't you say you'd definitely follow-up??
Pollen solves this problem, and does a whole lot more; it allows you to start organizing your professional network:
- Tags - Create and add tags to profiles, use them across your network
- Private notes - Add private notes for each connection
- Reminders - Add reminders to individual profiles
- Local storage - All your data stays private and secure on your device
There's no data sharing with LinkedIn - all information is stored locally, and your notes and tags are completely private. There's not even a sign-up form - just add the extension to Chrome and get started.
All feedback is very welcome - I'd love to continue improving Pollen and making it as useful as possible. Thanks for your support!
@paul_a_smith Love what you’ve built with Pollen! Quick thought, could AI help suggest tags or reminders based on past interactions? That might make it even more intuitive!
Really nice idea and lightweight execution and I love the privacy first focus with the local storage.
Are there any plans to make the data a bit more queryable, so for example if I logged that I met someone at a certain event a while ago, I could chat to Pollen and tell it I’m going to said event again, and it could suggest everyone I should get in touch with?
@djmckee thanks for the support!
Great idea. I'm keen to introduce semantic search to notes, which is obviously very doable with GAI now, but it's supper early; I want to make sure the notes (and tags) are initially useful before I double-down on their functionality.
@paul_a_smith I might be in an echo chamber here on PH. Since it's very SaaSy as of late. And linkedin is very popular with SaaS startups for getting clients etc. Im low key on this for now. Too afraid to use the AI batch apps I feel like they will land me in LinkedIn jail 😅. But I do use this Linkedin tool Getprospect.com (it just uses scraped LI data and finds emails etc) # Babysteps 👶
@sentry_co Trying hard to avoid LinkedIn jail with this - deliberately staying away from scraping and any functionality that lifts from Sales Navigator etc. Keen to stay privacy-focussed, but appreciate there's a world of APIs that can make life more interesting.
@paul_a_smith Yeah. I like the product position with this. Just add AI and I think it will be pretty close to how we all will be adding more context to linkedin in the future.
