Hey there, PDF enthusiasts! We are excited to announce that we've just released a BETA version of AI Chat in PDF Expert – and we’d love to get your insights and feedback.
For those of you not familiar with PDF Expert it’s the go-to PDF editor for iPhone, iPad and Mac, allowing you to read, highlight, edit and annotate PDFs, fill out forms, convert any file to PDF, merge several files into one, and easily add notes. With our recent AI Chat BETA release we’ve added a new dimension that will make it faster and easier to work with PDFs as it will allow you to summarise documents at speed, generate keyword outlines as well as assisting with general inquiries.
For our initial BETA release, we've focused on five key actions:
Generate Summary: navigate long, complex PDFs at speed by generating a concise and accurate summary based on the most important information in the document using natural language processing and machine learning algorithms.
List Main Points: quickly analyze the contents of the document and highlight key points without having to read the whole PDF.
Generate Keywords: highlight key information and provide a sense of the main topics covered in the document by analyzing the PDF for keywords based on frequency and relevance.
Generate Hashtags: analyze your documents for hashtags, which can provide you with an efficient way to label your content, making it much easier to retrieve or categorize your PDFs.
Ask Anything: it does what it says on the tin - literally ask any question you want, and our AI Chat feature will respond with an answer, which you can then copy, regenerate, or share.

Gatekeeping AI features behind subscription paywall vs. those who paid for the standalone app. It would be understandable if only Readdle provided the tokens, but you can't bring your own OpenAI API key. Feels like total bait and switch.
