@robingood Hi Robin, I want to make writing easier for everyone and will keep this free forever. I am planning to open source the project for people to contribute :)
@vijay_rohan Rohan, that is wonderful and I want to personally thank you for this gift to writers. I am enthusiastic about your tool and have added it here for other writers to discover it: http://tools.robingood.com
Thanks!
Elegant and simple. Very well done. But what's the value of the Wiki Search, though? It ends up opening up a new tab when you click on an article anyway. I thought it would allow you to reference it quickly or something. Thanks.
@joshuapinter Thanks :) Regarding your query, why wiki search? It was mainly implemented because I have seen many students jumping to wiki while making notes, writing essays etc. Thus wanted to make wiki search seamlessly integrated into the editor itself. Though when a search result is clicked it redirects you to wiki page if you want to read the complete article, but search also shows the brief description there itself to get acquainted with the topic.
Let me know what you feel about it and if there is something that you would like to suggest? :)
@vijay_rohan I see where you're going with it and I think that's great but I don't think you went far enough in this iteration to add value to the process.
If I'm using WikiPedia **that** much than I'd just pin a tab for it or have it on the second screen or something. If you made it super easy to search for the topic and reference the article in your text with a link or a footnote that would add value and justify the integration. Might even allow simple quoting from the article or something.
I like the direction, though.
@joshuapinter I totally agree with your view point. What I will try to do is to create a wiki search icon in the tooltip itself when you select a particular word. Also, I will also explore other iterations of the same.
