By now, I can't tell the difference between Fathom, Plausible, Simple Analytics, Umami and the dozens of others. Seems like this space is becoming a mere race to the pricing bottom.
@thomas that's fair feedback, and I do appreciate hearing your thoughts on this.
Could you clarify what makes you say that all these services seem to be racing to the pricing bottom? Honestly just curious :)
I don't see Panelbear as competing in price with the alternatives you mentioned. While it just launched, the aim is to be a more complete toolset in upcoming releases. But I understand that the landing pages fail to make this more visible.
@thomas I just like the fact that there are a couple of options for every kind of business, from side-hustle to full fledged company.
Also, it is just great to see Indie Hackers, Solopreneurs, Makers, working on great alternatives to Google Analaytics. There will always be place for privacy-friendly and secure tools and services.
Hi Product Hunt,
I’m Anthony, and I started Panelbear on the side as I “scratched my own itch” after not feeling at home in any of the existing solutions in the analytics space.
🚀 Why
If you own a website, you probably want to know how is it doing over time. For example:
- How fast is my site loading in each country?
- How many visitors come each day?
- Which pages are trending?
- What are the top countries?
Panelbear was built to answer those questions in real time. So for example if your website is trending on HN, you can view live metrics on the traffic spike, get alerted and monitor your site’s performance.
🏔 Alternatives
There's already plenty of fantastic analytics tools in the simple and privacy focused space. While Panelbear currently offers similar features, my aim is to become a more complete website toolkit over time. For example performance monitoring and alerting rules.
🔥 What’s in it for you
- Super simple setup
- Built-in performance monitoring
- Real time traffic analytics
- Simple pricing, and flexible quotas
- Friendly support if you need it :)
You can get started for free with the Hobby plan, and once you are ready for more there’s paid plans available for businesses and high-traffic websites.
I feel incredibly lucky, just launched some weeks ago with a few posts here and there, and Panelbear is already handling a couple million page views for various websites! It’s been a crazy ride so far 😀
I'm happy to answer any questions!
