Hey Guys, We passionately believe that bringing like-minded people together, making it easy to explore their location so that they can discover places and create meetups will create a more open and happier world, and that is the story behind Mapbuzz. Most of the apps for meeting people are focussed on dating but we're focussed on making the actual connection between humans as easy and frictionless as possible and so we're focussed on friendships because dating is the by-product of humans connecting, it can happen at work, at college, anywhere, the key for us is the actual connection not what you do with that connection, wether its sports, walks, gym buddy, travel buddy, etc. It's ideal for travel and also for those that love meeting new people and trying new experiences. We'll go into the features below but first I want to mention safety. Safety is paramount for us so we've got 2 important points in the app; Firstly the app never shows your real location, our algorithm will display you in a random spot in the city so people can still connect without knowing where you are. Secondly, users can get a blue verified tick on their profile if they verify their profile photo at signup. We use AI facial recognition for this and it will allow our users to connect more comfortably with others. Let's talk features; 📱 At signup users select their interests from 6 categories: Food, Music, Movies, Sports, Travel, Gaming. 🗺 The Map. This is the homescreen of the app which will load people and places around you. You can filter places through different categories which include; restaurants, cafe's, things to do, parks, etc. When you tap a place you can see photos and reviews quickly which is loaded through the Google Places API, you can add the place to your spots map, you can plan a meetup in that place by inviting your friends which will create a group chat for the meetup to easily discuss, and it has built-in navigation to get you there. We wanted to make the experience of discovery and meetup as seamless as possible. 🤗 Friend Match. You can find people in a number of screens on the app; the Map, the search screen where you can filter by interests, and the Friend Match screen which is a tinder-style swipe feature. 💬 Public Groups. You can create and join groups for different interests, e.g. Hiking. This feature will be more useful as the number of users grows. You can password-protect the group which makes it suitable for a closed network e.g, university class, work colleagues, a travel bloggers followers, a neighborhood group, etc. There's other features which you'll notice as you play with the app. The iOS version has Mapbuzz Gold, which is a premium account that unlocks a number of features and limits within the app. By default the map allows you to explore and discover the location you're currently in, but Gold will unlock the whole world. * PRODUCT HUNT EXCLUSIVE * If you signup to the 1 week Gold Membership we'll extend it to a 1 year. @kostyadoronin Thanks! For now we're focussed on growth but we've got a bunch of exciting ideas which include AI and AR which will further enhance the way we connect with people and places so stay tuned.
