The Llama 4 collection of models are natively multimodal AI models that enable text and multimodal experiences. These models leverage a mixture-of-experts architecture to offer industry-leading performance in text and image understanding.
Meta is releasing three models: The new 3.1-405B and upgrades to their smaller models: 3.1-70B and 3.1-8B. If 405B is as good as the benchmarks indicate, this would be the first time an open source model rivaled the best closed models—a profound shift.
Better language generation, more layers of safety, a broad set of partners – and a license that authorizes commercial use.
Llama-3 405B is impressive. Its performance rivals top models and it's open-source. Highly recommended!
Fantastic! I use it to create content as part of my job. I improve my prompts as I use them, and I have now reached a point where it saves hours or even days of work for me and my colleagues.
Llama, developed by Meta, is a series of large language models designed to be efficient and versatile for various AI tasks. It's a competitive player in the AI field, offering strong performance while being open for research use. It's definitely part of the growing landscape of models that make AI more accessible and useful for diverse applications.
Llama 3.2 is the latest large language model (LLM) developed by Meta, designed to understand and generate text with a high level of sophistication. The model is available in a variety of sizes, including 8 billion and 70 billion parameters, which can support a variety of use cases.
Not quite on par with the closed-weights/-source models at the moment. But it's clear that lots of work went into this, and the result is the most capable open-weights model. Please don't call it open-source, because it isn't.
