Kinety is a collaborative workspace that enables growing companies to capture their vision. From setting values & behaviors that guide your decisions to mapping OKR's or defining personal development routes. Share it in one space and start working as one.
It's good to be back as a maker at Product Hunt after quite a long time 🙋🏻♂️
I'm Paul, co-founder of The Main Ingredient, a startup studio from Amsterdam and very proud to introduce our newest SaaS-product Kinety! To celebrate our Product Hunt launch, we are temporarily opening up Kinety for free.
💡 Why we built Kinety:
Everybody who has worked in a growing company knows the struggle of keeping everybody in sync on the company strategy, while also trying to nail the job your tasked to do and growing your team without losing your precious crafted culture! We faced these at The Main Ingredient several times and felt the urge to scratch our own itch!
⚡️ What Kinety helps achieve:
We set out to make it easy enough to collectively shape our company goals in a way that made it easy and logical to connect personal development plans for everybody in our team while also connecting everything to the behaviours we find are so important in our culture.
With almost our entire team working remote, and many of our first users as well, we felt the need for a tool which gave us freedom while also allowing live collaboration. We went for a canvas as the basic workspace so you can setup your structure in the way that you seem fit. It's still easy enough to get structure when you need it by organising sessions right in Kinety. We use them for 1:1's, but also strategy sessions and our OKR reviews.
We think that Kinety brings an important new option to the table when it comes to sharing your company strategy and supporting your team in aligning on what to work on. I can't wait to see what you think of it.
We only just got started 💪🏻
☀️ First MVP built on a company-wide retreat in 4 week:
Side-story, we built the first MVP for Kinety with our awesome team at TMI while on a 4-week company get-away in a fantastic vila in Italy. Building a new product from scratch in that setting is something I will never forget. I can highly recommend getting together with your team in an inspiring location with a clear goal in front of you, it can bring pure magic! Let me know if you have any questions on how we did it!
Building the core of Kinety in a month was a really cool challenge, and I'm super proud that we succeeded, and how! Using websockets, a Node backend, and the flexible and awesome combination of document store and graph database that ArangoDB offers on the data side, made for a nice dev exercise to create a truly collaborative experience.
We are really happy with the product we created, and we're looking forward to keep making Kinety better and better. We really hope you'll like it too.
Start working on a new product is an adventure everytime. The best way to do that is from your own needs. At The Main Ingredient we wanted to change our focus and do that with the team in place. How do you manage that transition? How do we make sure we are all on the same page? What is the company goal and ambition? Does that fit in with the expectations and personal goals of the team? Can we grow as a person, team and company at the same time in the same pace? Questions every company runs into at more that one stage in it's existence.
Looking at the available models and methods available, like OKR's or OGSM from a strategic angle, but also 1:1 and performance reviews from a HR angle. We missed the link and insights between the two. Even in our company where we thought everything we aimed for was clear for everybody, so they could focus on their contribution to that common goal en align that with their personal and team goals.
It was great to find a solution to fix that gap and make people more connected to the company goals, but also the values and behaviors we belief should be the base of our culture.
We are very enthusiastic and want to share that with the world. We believe everybody should be able to benefit from our solution as it brought us already so much. We are curious to hear your feedback and experience with Kinety. As @paulreijnierse said "We only just got started"
