We made a mobile messenger app that helps creators/experts monetising conversations with their audience. In this messenger creators/experts can be paid by their audience (fans/clients) for texting - giving individual advice or just giving attention.
Excited to contribute to passion economy! Hoping that with this messenger creators have one more way to make living out of their passions. KamuKamu allows anyone to make money by giving others advice on are of their expertise. Maybe you are a fitness instructor or a relationship coach or a lawyer or ikebana expert who gets follow up questions from your clients in between your regular interactions - get paid for the advice you give on the questions you answer!
And for your clients it's an easy way to compensate for your help! So many times we've all been in situations where it's uncomfortable to ask someone a follow up question because we don't want to disturb a person without easy way to pay.
- invite your clients to chat with you through a link or a QR code
- set price for the messages that you send
- withdraw money into your account
Looking forward to get community feedback on the product and build it further!
If the “experts” are paid by message sent, doesn’t that incentivize them to use too many messages to reply, instead of being succinct and to-the-point?
@anna_0x Hi Anna! That's a good question. There are several reasons why we think it won't be happening at a large scale, but we will be developing product as we grow make sure that both interests of experts and paying users are met. Below is our thinking on the topic.
1. We have a simple spam protection - if expert sends 3 messages in a row without a reply from the client all the following messages are free until the client responds.
2. Experts wouldn't want to shoot themselves in the foot by trying to extract more money in the short term at the expense of losing the client for the long term. Our current thinking is that we expect most of the communication in our app to be between experts and users on ongoing basis (i.e. for weeks, months) rather than one-off communications.
3. There is an option to send free messages by the expert and specially priced messages. Each specially priced message needs to be accepted by the paying user. A typical scenario we foresee is user asking a question, expert replies how much the response for such a question would be in a free or low priced message and if a user agrees then sends a specially priced message.
4. There is no discovery of experts in our app, so as a paying user you will talk with experts that you have developed trust already through other social networks or in person. We think that will reduce the risk of having experts that will practice bad value extracting behaviours from their clients.
Curious to hear your thoughts on this, thank you in advance!
