Wanna do something cool with your Instagram data? With InstaGraph you get 3 individual maps with data from your first LIKE, back in 1842, until today. Have fun while revisiting past times <3
Most people don't know, that they can access their Instagram, Facebook, TikTok etc data. And why would they? There was pretty much nothing to do with it.
We ourselves have Instagram accounts for over 10 years each. And I would guess we were online on 99% of days since (at least me). So much time has past and we thought, we should do something with that data. InstaGraph was born.
One more thing:
As cool as our maps are, is also our code. Everything is run client-side, so your data never leaves your device. Therefore this sh*t is bullet proof on the data security & privacy front.
@hanspaulpp Thanks for the upvote!
For me it was very interesting to see, how the data reflected different stages of life and how it can help me to detect when I'm about to go to deep into the rabbit hole.
F.e. back in 2014 when I started using IG, I got mostly engaged by friends and fitness influencer content. During that time I went to the gym frequently, ate healthy and idk, just had a good time. Time passes, I quit gym, started pursuing other things. And a reflection of that can be seen on the map. Not a good time for me.
So many things happened in 10 years, with multiple ups and downs, and if you revisit stages of your past, you can see a reflection of that on your InstaGraph - how (and when) the influencers and profiles and content you follow changed, you made new friends and old ones disappear (and appear again!)
-> Sooo, I think its good for monitoring. As decrease in quality happens slowly (obv. everyone is to make what quality is, but i guess you know what I mean), I can now just input my data every couple of weeks or months and see where I'm going (if deleting IG is not an option, which it isn't in my case).
