HelloDeco is a Notion integration that provides you with an "@deco.so" email address that delivers directly to your Notion workspace. Receive attachments, reply from Notion, and build your inbox the way you want it!
HelloDeco started off over a year ago as an idea to build a completely new email client. We were inspired originally by the idea "What if Notion built email?".
We quickly learned that building an entire email client is WAY outside of what we could accomplish on our own, and pivoted to a couple different things before the "aha" moment - what if we used Notion directly AS the email client?
That started us down the path that led to today's launch - HelloDeco is (almost) a fully functioning email client, albeit with a few odd quirks resulting from Notion's API limitations. We've learned a LOT along the way, and have spent a lot of time monitoring and polishing the email deliverability engine and HTML to Notion block parsing technology.
Our goal is that your "@deco.so" email address should be as reliable as an "@gmail.com" address, and twice as useful due to the direct integration with the rest of the Notion ecosystem.
We've seen some cool use cases already, such as support ticketing systems, expense tracking systems, and automated newsletter organization.
We'd love to have you give HelloDeco a try, and let us know what you build!
Upon using HelloDeco, I found that it delivers on its promise of being a functional email client. The direct integration with the rest of the Notion ecosystem is a major benefit, and I can see how it could be useful for organizing various workflows and processes. Congrats on the launch!
Deco is sweet. Since it's built right into Notion the options for what you can do with it are nearly unlimited. For example, you could forward select newsletters to your deco email to read later. The possibilities for automating support and collaborating with a team are also super intriguing.
Such a clever idea. I think the best way to approach this is not fully abandoning email but using filters to auto-forward specific types of emails into their correct destination in Notion (e.g. invoices go to your Notion invoices database, bug reports can go into your Notion bugs database, etc).
