Hey all,
Over the past few years, my partner and I found ourselves in this very first-world problem cycle:
• Subscribing to recipe boxes (HelloFresh, Gousto, etc.)
• Getting bored of the meals and canceling
• Trying to cook ourselves but running out of ideas
• Forgetting to plan or shop for meals
• Going back to recipe boxes.
• Rinse and repeat.
We loved the convenience of recipe boxes but wanted more variety and control. I thought, there has to be a better way to break this cycle. That’s how FoodiePrep was born.
What is FoodiePrep?
It’s an AI-powered recipe and meal planning app designed to make home cooking easy, fun, and personalised.
Here’s how it works:
• Analyses your personal preferences to generate custom recipes tailored to you via chatbot "Chef Foodie"
• Lets you plan meals, create shopping lists, and sync with your local grocery store(support for popular USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand grocery stores).
• Provides accurate nutritional info for those focused on health or fitness goals.
It took 4 months of building to bring FoodiePrep to life. At the start I was unsure if AI could actually solve this problem until during prototyping, my partner thanked me for “making cooking fun again”, and I realised this might actually work. FoodiePrep has now recently launched and has a handful of paying subscribers. I'm still keen to get as much feedback as possible as the AI recipe space is still very new.
Beyond middle-class procrastinators like us, I’m exploring specific audiences like plant-based eaters, gym-goers, and nutrition enthusiasts.
Would you use this?
I’d love to hear your feedback—what works, what could be better, or even who you think would benefit most!
