Five years ago, someone introduced me to the idea of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) for data cleaning. At the time, I was confident that AI had little advantage over traditional algorithms. For the first three years, I resisted adding any AI to Flookup. Then, I wrote a small post on my website, announcing that I would eventually integrate it, but another two years passed before I finally wrote the code. Unfortunately, the best model available then was not as good as I had hoped. And, truth be told, my core algorithm was still far ahead of AI in performance. But I was determined to bring AI to Flookup, especially since it introduces aspects like semantics and natural language understanding. So, this week, I am excited to announce that we have finally jumped on the AI train and added it to Flookup! It is still early days, but I would love for you to try it out. And the best part? It’s available at no extra cost.
