Congrats on the launch! A couple of questions:
-What is the benefit of HTML emails in 2023? The majority of large brands use clipped JPGs designed in Figma/Adobe etc. with alt text, or mainly images with text blocks.
-How does email strategy come into this? Is this exclusively an ‘email creation’ service based on requests, or do you also offer recommendations etc., and how is this standardised.
-What if a client doesn’t know what to request?
-Do you split test each email? What sort of testing/optimisation do you do?
-Are the designs you have on your websites real emails for clients or just examples?
These are just some things that stood out to me going through your landing page.
Hopefully you can land your first client soon (if you haven’t already), good luck.

Hi Liam! Thank you!
The benefit of HTML emails is customization and deliverability. I don't know that majority of large brands use clipped images. That's not best practice in the email industry. I've worked at Udemy and Sephora, neither of which used sliced images. While image-heavy emails are common in retail, HTML emails are still best practice. Ultimately, it's up to the brand.
Email strategy is included in membership. I encourage members to share their analytics to inform future campaigns. Strategy is not standardized. It varies by member.
If a member does not know what to request, we can work together to create an overall strategy to work from.
We do not split test each email. We test according to the member's strategy. (Which could be each email if requested.) We are well versed in A/B and multivariate testing. We can design tests for content, segmentation, or workflow.
The designs on my website are examples. I have worked for large brands as an employee and am not able to use those emails in my portfolio.
Thanks for the great questions! I have some things to clarify on the site. I really appreciate it!
@kishaanderson thanks for the quick response. Yes correct, it is e-commerce I'm referring to when I say image based emails, that has been the trend since dark mode took over. It's technically not 'best practice' but I've noticed the biggest brands and email marketing agencies have been doing it for a while (https://www.magnetmonster.co.uk/...). Most brands e-commerce brands I subscribe to do this, which makes me wonder if HTML is really beneficial for the sacrifice of customization/increase in time and effort to create the emails.
@liam_diviney Here's a good article with more information: https://www.litmus.com/blog/why-....
Image-heavy emails are not bad, as long as the images are within the limits of what email clients will render and the text is the actual text, not an image. Image-only emails are a different story, which we don't do. EmailArtisan.io is not for everyone. Ultimately, brands can do what suits them.
