If you've always been meaning to get in shape but never got around to it, this iOS app can help you slowly but surely build the habits that will give you the results you want.
What a great idea, and great timing. I totally get the problem you're addressing, having always failed when I tried to take on big workout habits. How would you contrast this with 7-minute workout apps? I've been using Seven and it has been great for me.
Is Core more focused on making sure the workout isn't intimidating and guiding beginners through the first phase of making it a habit?
@colemanfoley Hey Coleman, I think the main thing setting it apart from 7-minute workout apps is the habit forming part. So Core will try to get you to form a habit of doing a workout you're comfortable with (regardless of how many minutes that takes) every day. I've been exercising like this myself with great results. There are also habit apps that could. help with this, but they don't have anything to help people get started working out.
@cristianmoisei Makes a lot of sense, thanks! I really like this approach. It reminds me of the book Tiny Habits. I liked that book because it has more of a warm and non-intimidating vibe than other habits-related stuff I've read. And it emphasizes that there's no such thing as starting too small. So this app seems like a great way to put that kind of thinking into practice. Would totally try it if I was an iPhone user, but I'm on Android.
I think there is a huge amount of opportunity in this area, in making behavior change accessible and possible for *everybody*. And this looks like a great tool for it.
@colemanfoley thanks for that. Unfortunately, yes this is iOS only at the time, but I'm glad to know how you'te thinking about the concept, and I hope to keep developing it in that direction. If people like it that is.
Hey Product Hunt, I've spent the lockdown working on another side-project:
An iOS fitness app that will take it slow and focus on building good habits, improving over time, and getting to your goals safely, rather than promising results ASAP and letting you figure out how it all works yourself.
I'd love to know what you think.
