dLinks lets you build a decentralized profile on Web 3.0 in seconds. Built using Handshake and Sia: Handshake names are decentralized domains that no one can block access to. Skynet offers decentralized backend hosting that cannot be taken down.
We made dLinks to make it easy for anyone to create a decentralized profile using Web 3.0 technologies. The pages themselves are hosted on Sia’s Skynet, which is a decentralized storage network. Normally Skynet files have long names that are hard to remember (hashes) so to make them human-readable we use Handshake which is a decentralized naming system.
The end goal is that your dLink can act as insurance for your digital life — if anything ever happens to your account such as getting deplatformed or randomly banned, your followers will always be able to find your latest links on your dLink page!
I can't wait to try this out! I especially love how concise the URLs can be and the fact that I wouldn't have to worry about it being blocked. This could also definitely also be useful for dLinks that contain links to helpful resources as we have seen lately that Governments will try to block guides that float around social media. Awesome stuff!
@danielgonzo2016 thanks Gonzo you’re exactly right. I think dLinks is best for individuals/groups who are at the highest risk of being deplatformed or blocked online. Opposition political leaders and news outlets around the world often have to jump through numerous hoops to stay visible online and we think dLinks can help that.
@danielgonzo2016 In creating dLinks, we wanted to focus on creating an easy-to-use tool that could provide a form of digital insurance for your online identity. That also applies to whatever helpful resources those individuals might be trying to ensure people have access to.
@matthewzipkin I think so too! DLinks is basically a no code tool for Web 3.0 — I’m excited to see what people create now that anyone can create a decentralized profile in seconds without being a developer
