Inspired by a reddit post, I sat down and created DeskMat, a Mac app that lets you cover your Desktop icons and widgets with a simple button click (or keyboard shortcut, or auto-triggers).
That makes for much nicer streams, screen-sharing, and distraction-free work!

Since its initial release, I made a couple of neat improvements in DeskMat:
- It can now work in tandem with your Focus modes, so when you activate a certain Focus, DeskMat automatically covers your Desktop
- It now supports shuffling and dynamic/live wallpapers
- Click on a cover to activate Finder so you get immediate access to its menu bar and keyboard shortcuts
