@razaqahmed1 Love this idea, what countries do you support right now? I noticed naira on your homepage images, represent! šŸ‡³šŸ‡¬
Razaq Ahmed
@abadesi Thank you šŸ™. We started out from Nigeria. Fully functional. We are currently working on opening our channels in other West African and East African countries.

Really interesting! I wish you all the success possible. One question though, concerning the return. 10 to 15% return is HUGE. How are you making sure that the investment is secure? (btw, I didn't know about the Nigerian bonds, really interesting!) :)
Razaq Ahmed
Hello @tsnkff šŸ‘‹šŸ¾, thank you for the success wish. On security of investment, at the moment we invest the savings in local currency risk-free instruments (treasury bills and bonds) issued by the Nigerian government. The yield environment is quite high in Nigeria. These risk-free instruments yield between 10% and 17%. They were as high as 22% few months ago. Local currency treasury bills and government bonds are the most secured financial instruments in Nigeria. In addition to that, we have an SEC-registered Trustee who holds the assets on behalf of all savers for custody.

@razaqahmed1 thanks for the quick reply and for the informations! I suppose that the application is only available for Nigerian or African? Otherwise I'm in!
Razaq Ahmed
@tsnkff We have launched in Nigeria. We are currently working on launching in other African countries.

@razaqahmed1 @tsnkff Hmm! Wonder if Cowrywise can allow a global consumer base have access to local risk-free instruments too
Razaq Ahmed
@tsnkff @yelebademosi It is an expansion plan we have on our road map. Africa to the world šŸ˜€. The big elephant there is how to tame the foreign exchange risk involved in doing that. We are looking at possible solutions to cross that bridge.
