Introducing CineScope - your ultimate movie companion for personalized film recommendations. Our innovative web app takes the guesswork out of movie selection, delivering tailored recommendations that align with your unique tastes and preferences.
Hey there, I'm Jayesh Bagde, the founder of CineScope. As a film aficionado and tech enthusiast, I've always been passionate about helping people discover amazing movies tailored to their tastes.
Having spent years exploring the world of cinema, I realized that finding the perfect movie can be a daunting task. That's why I created CineScope - a web app that takes the hassle out of movie recommendations.
At CineScope, our goal is to bring the joy of film to everyone by delivering personalized movie recommendations. We believe that every movie lover deserves an effortless and enjoyable way to discover hidden gems, explore new genres, and find films they'll absolutely love.
With CineScope, you no longer need to spend hours scrolling through countless titles or relying on generic algorithms. Our advanced recommendation engine analyzes your preferences, considers your favorite genres, actors, and directors, and suggests movies tailored just for you. Whether you're a die-hard fan of indie films or enjoy action-packed blockbusters, CineScope has got you covered.
I'm thrilled to introduce CineScope. It's a game-changer for movie enthusiasts seeking personalized recommendations that truly match their tastes. Join me in exploring a world of cinematic wonders and let's redefine how we discover and enjoy movies together.
Nice idea and was eager to try it out and enjoy it.
I am always supportive of the products launched here, but I wanted to point out some issues with this one (wish PH would allow us to add screenshots here).
1. The front page has almost nothing except login and signup buttons (not even a logo) or any useful promotional info. You always want to give folks something more to go on before asking them to sign up. I can't recall seeing a consumer-facing site with such little info on it before.

2. If you ARE going to demand we signup early, you should offer guidance on stronger passwords. Right now, almost anything can be made a password.
3. On sites like this, whenever users are asked to fill in a box with movie names, it makes sense to have it tied into the database, so that the autosuggest makes sure the title are exactly right. CineScope doesn't do that. At the same time, it doesn't recognize that "Usual Suspects" and "The Usual Suspects" are the same movie. For an international audience, always good to be forgiving in this way, or offer suggestions instead of just saying, "Check movie name again."

4. While signing up, I was glad I was asked for my top three movies, as I'd not been asked for that in years. I put down TUS, Shawshank and Galaxy Quest (the original Jungle Book cartoon is a close fourth). I expected to be given a terrific list on the next screen, but got nothing. I am, however, glad to see the three movies are easily accessible as part of my profile and I can update them any time. Wish it would give me a real-time list of recommendations that would change as I change the titles in my top three.

5. On sites like this, you usually have one opportunity to impress a distracted user. When I asked for recommendations based on "The Usual Suspects," I got three "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies! Makes zero sense!
The result was so disappointing I didn't want to put in my fave film, "The Shawshank Redemption" and get, eg, "Howard the Duck."
6. I know it's all the rage to call every new product as using AI. Cinescope is listed in PH in three categories: movies, artificial intelligence and tech. I was hoping CineScope would tell us on PH and in the site itself how it uses AI.
The good news is that most of this (except #5) is easily fixable. And am sure it will get better as they do.
I am deliberately NOT rating this right now, as I'd have to give it a 1-star or 2-star rating. I'd rather have them fix some of the cosmetic stuff and then I can take a look at it again.
Good luck, folks!
@sree Hello. Thank you for using our product and giving us the feedback. Your feedback means a lot to us. We will definitely work on these and fix the issues.
Regarding issue 6, Cinescope is a content based recommendation system as for now. We will make it hybrid (content + collaborative) system once it gets enough users. It uses text vectorization to convert usefull information like title of the movie, director, cast, movie description, etc into vectors and find the cosine similarly to get the similarity between the vectors/movies.
We will update this on our app too. Thank you.
