Real time code sharing without the pain of screen sharing

chmod4 makes sharing the code that you're working on with remote collaborators as easy as running a command in your editor. We currently support Emacs, Sublime Text, and VS Code. Collaborators only need a browser.

@jonathanbeurel Maybe an alternative to vs studio share during the technical test for our recruiting process ?

@gael_motte You are right. And it's great that it's cross text editor (VS Code / Sublime)

@gael_motte @jonathanbeurel If you do end up doing this we'd love to help out / chat!
Jonathan — Goelo.com
@gael_motte @ekez It would be our pleasure. We will contact you as soon as we discuss the subject in the team. I wish you the best.

Amazing product! How does it work?
zeke
@theblackuchiha It's actually remarkably simple. Effectively it's just a websocket connection between the editor, our server, and whoever is viewing the code. The editor then streams updates to whatever it is working on over that websocket.
zeke
@theblackuchiha The code is open source if you'd like to take a look. https://github.com/ZekeMedley/co... the www/ directory is likely the interesting part as that is where the server code is.

Looks great! But I tried to install it on Sublime Text, but it greys out the "Start Mirroring" option, for some reason. Any idea why that is?
zeke
@bricklerex Interesting. I'm not sure. Do you know what version of Sublime Text you're using? I can try and reproduce if you know.

@ekez Im using build 4113, Stable
