Atten is an all-in-one place powered by AI that give you a new way to thinking, learning, writing, coding. Atten currently has three core features: Coden(coding with AI), Noten(writing with AI) and ChatUI(chat with AI).
👋Hi Product Hunt community! I'm Rand. After months of work, I am very excited to introduce Atten - an all-in-one place powered by AI. I hope this can give you a new way of thinking, learning, writing and coding.
Our goal is to enable you to do many things here with AI. To achieve this, we invested heavily in researching AI capabilities and limitations, as well as interactions that are better suited for AI. I personally use Atten everyday to help me with many tasks - it's especially fulfilling to be able to make a product I wanted to use myself and now share it with all of you.
Let me briefly introduce some of the features and designs of Atten's initial launch:
🧑💻Coden:
1. Coden is positioned to allow people to complete simple programming tasks using natural language, whether you're an experienced coder looking to leverage AI for higher efficiency, or a beginner wanting to learn and use programming languages, Coden can meet your needs.
2. You can describe your needs to the AI, and it will complete writing the code. After completion, the code will automatically run so you can see the results directly.
3. Coden supports running Python, HTML, Mermaid directly in the browser so you don't need to download or install anything else to start using it.
📝Noten:
1. When using AI to assist writing, its responses may not be ideal, which is why we kept the conversational interface. You can interact with the AI to get better replies.
2. We also tried many interaction methods - you can select text to ask the AI questions, or use Drag and Drop.
3. You can easily use Noten to write, manage prompts, or translate an article.
🤖Chat UI
1. We understand chatting is a crucial scenario, so our capabilities here are very complete - editing messages, regenerating responses, etc.
2. If you get lost in a long conversation, you can use our Multiverse view to navigate messages.
3. We also have auto-translation and proofreading to help you learn a language by chatting with the AI.
We are thrilled to launch Atten and hope you'll give it a try! Please ask questions and share thoughts in the comments - we genuinely want to hear from you on how we can enhance your experience. With your insights, we can work together to evolve Atten into an even more valuable tool. Looking forward to the discussion!
@rrhoover
There are some reasons why I initially decided to do it this way:
1. AI costs are high, providing more features would be more cost-effective for users.
2. There may be platform-level opportunities. I built several apps first, later could open up to other developers, like ChatGPT plugins, but considering integration with GUI. However it doesn't seem viable yet now.
3. Many scenarios have low frequency. I thought putting these together, could allow users to use it more frequently.
But the real reason I didn't focus on one scenario is probably because I didn't find one convincing enough scenario, or I didn't know what I should do.
Could you give me some advice?
@jack_gao appreciate you sharing and the honesty!
I won't pretend to know the right approach, especially having very little context on the project and potential insights you've gained.
But my general bias is to build more narrow products early on that focus on a very specific audience and/or use case. The reason for this:
1. It reduces the amount of work required to bring the product to market and support (emphasis on the support – I think people underestimate the potential tech debt and overhead involved in supporting features).
2. You can more narrowly focus the branding, marketing, and GTM to be more relevant to your target user. This is particularly useful when competing in noisy markets.
3. You can always expand later. A narrow focus on day one doesn't necessitate a narrow focus forever.
@rrhoover Thank you for your suggestions.
I agree with what you said about focusing on a very specific audience and/or use case, especially the last point, it indeed helps me to not be so stubborn when thinking about it.
I think I should reconsider the product positioning.
@rrhoover Haha yes, there is still some distance from several ideas to repositioning the product well, but still very good suggestions. As for customer advice, this also seems to depend on product positioning.
@kingromstar Thank you for trying it out and providing feedback. Python is indeed only suitable for certain scenarios, while other features are more universal.
