After almost 10 years of teaching over 500,000 people how to code I decided to start my own learning website. I'm building a platform that's great for students AND instructors. Feel free to ask me anything about creation process!
@thea_mark Fantastic question!!
We're less strict than LinkedIn Learning (formerly Lynda) in how courses can be created and it feels like we have a lower barrier for new students to join than LinkedIn Learning. We also feel like that frees up the creativity that instructors can work with. And for Skillshare, we pay 50% of our monthly royalty pot to the teachers every month, Skillshare only offers 30% to the teachers. They are also notorious for bad communication, strange practices, and overall not treating their content creators very well. We've built in Communication, Collaboration and Transparency into our core values so we align strongly with our instructors to help them feel supported, heard, and valuable.
