Reviews

Reviews are crucial to your long-term user acquisition strategy. Beyond launch day, millions of people who land on Product Hunt every week are searching for new things to try. Reviews of your product…

Here are a couple of ways you can improve reviews on your profile:
  • Embed a “Leave a Review” badge on your website to drive your users to leave reviews on Product Hunt.
  • Sending a friendly email to your existing users can never hurt. Here’s a quick template you can use.

Keeping track of and responding to your reviews is just as important as collecting them. We’ll send you an email when you get new reviews, but if you prefer, you can also get a notification through Slack.

Badges & Embeds

Our badges and embeds are a key way that makers leverage their success on Product Hunt for months and years after launch. There are several types of embeds available. Makers will receive an email with a link to them after your launch.
  • Featured badge: Show off your launch milestone with pride.
  • Hub embed: Highlight your product with a little more context (great for blogs and media pages).
  • Awards: If you were lucky enough to earn Product of the Day or another recognition, slap that badge on your website proudly. You’re in good company with products like Notion, Brex, and Figma. Keep an eye out for email notifications — we’ll let you know if you snagged Product of the Week or Month.
  • Leave a Review badge: Drive users to leave reviews — they help convert future users.

Launching your product again

Let’s say you have been working on your product and have shipped a ton of new features (way to go!). Or maybe you pivoted and changed the product completely. You might want to launch the next iteration of your product on Product Hunt. That’s awesome — you should do that.

If you submit your product again within 6 months of your last launch, you’ll find you get a pop up message asking if your new launch is a major update or not. We've put this step in place due to feedback. Our community felt that the homepage was starting to look too homogeneous from multiple quick-fire launches from the same makers. A diluted homepage ultimately hurt the community by making it harder for people to discover new products. We aim for the homepage to remain a useful and authentic place for makers to launch and discover new products, and so this guideline was introduced.

Product Hunt significant update question

Like we said though, if your product has some game changing updates, you can still launch the next iteration and you don’t have to wait 6 months to do so. Just submit a request through the form and include reasons for why it should be re-posted. Our team can then review and approve your request. You’ll get an email letting you know if your product has been approved.
