What to expect from launching on Product Hunt?

Hello everyone,
We are launching our beloved product this week, and I was wondering if you could shed some light on what to expect.
How much traffic and how many questions should we prepare to receive?
The majority of Product Hunt user is from which country? Any specific time of the day that we should see a spike in requests?
How important is it to land in the top 3 products of the day?
If we're able to reach the top, what happens afterward? And if we don't?
Last but not least, what does the Product Hunt community expect from a new product? Are coupons and discounts important?

@ervinkalemi landing in top 3 products depends on the trust capital that you've built within different audience communities.
You need to prime these communities way ahead of the launch to get support on launch day.
- Share BTS of your launch prep
- Ask for feedback
- Share value content + your on the fly learnings
- Closer to launch, you may experiment with valuable offers for early adopters & launch day sign ups.
How much traffic on launch day ?
- Depends on size of primed audience on different communities, your email list (if you have any), engaged audience via paid ads.
How important it is to land in top 3 on PH ?
- PH is just one distribution channel.
Topping PH will give you D1 traffic spike. However, PH alone wont sustain traffic between D1-D14.
So plan for launch on multiple distribution channels - PH, IH, Reddit (very carefully), affiliate, paid ads & social media.
What happens if you top PH ?
- Next 24 hours: Be ready to engage in live Q&A & comments on chats & forums. Ensure you have already load tested your site & product. Your dev team should be on stand by.
- D1-D7: Thank community supporters, email subs and early adopters. Focus on high touch onboarding for early adopters. Gather feedback & voice of customer.
- D7 - D28: Share your experience & learnings with audience communities. Be active on social. Evaluate your user acquisition strategies for first 90 days basis your launch response.

Everything really depends on how well the launch goes - more upvotes -> more traffic -> more engagement

1- Interaction
At each launch, three of our team members came online to answer questions and we quickly responded to comments and questions.
At the same time, we announced that we would launch our product on platforms such as slack, twitter and LinkedIn. We were also online on these platforms on the day of launch.
2-Timing
We conducted both launches at 07:00 UTC. We confirmed this decision with our launch results. We also recommend it to you.
3-Coupons
Generating coupons for Product Hunt is a gift for hunters who visit you at launch. It makes it easier for them to bond with your product. It's also illegal to ask for a 'upvote' when promoting your launch. But you could call it a specially defined 'discount coupon' visit. ;)
4- Audit
If you've reviewed the products we launched during the product hunt, it means you've met Product Doctor. 🙂 With Product Doctor, we ensure that products are tested before they are released to the market. I'd say you would get more visibility from around the world. It is important to try your best to be the top 3 product of the day.If you don't do that, you can still relaunch an update later. And, coupons and discounts are not important.

Publicity, Product Promotion and Awareness, can expect high traffic, may be few sales/ subscriptions also.
Your product will have many launches. This will not be the last. So don't stress too much.
Yes give your 100 percent. Let people know in advance. Any attention you get as soon as you launch, you must respond to. I think it is EXTREMELY important to finish in the top 3 , but if you don't , you can always get there with the next launch.

@chetan_natesh haha I know. This would be our second attempt. I tried the first launch many years ago when I only had a Beta version and that was a total (deserved) failure.
