โ€œLearning is a treasure that will follow its owner everywhere.โ€ We all need to learn to get closer to our chosen goals, specially for us here on Product Hunt because I believe we are trying to make something happen thats outside of our comfort zone. Learning is probably the only way we will get pass the wall we face. Is there anything your have learned or wish to learn this year. Please share with us ๐Ÿ‘

I planned to do more sports and travel. Professionally, I want to study finance and product development more, as I have more than 11 years of experience in marketing and wanted to better explore other areas for SaaS. But Russia has changed plans a little, we do sports, but there is a little less time for study than we would like. I also consider it very important to pump analytical skills!

Hi @ivan_burban, seems to me that you lots of things on the plate for this year. All the best ๐Ÿ‘

A big one that I'm still learning is to assume positive intent. I've been at bad work environments, and the scars come out sometimes. Most people mean the best, and I'm lucky to work with what feels like positive-intending coworkers across the board. Still, in a remote environment (I didn't meet anyone at Scribe for 4+ months), you can lose confidence at times. It's a work in progress, but it's a mindset I'm trying to adopt and do think it can be a skill.

Hi @jakub_rudnik2 I actually had to google assume positive intent to fully understand what that meant and I am glad I did. I am glad you found a good team. While working remote I feel that one has to take an extra step to create that environment that one can take from granted in office space mainly indirect feedback, casual conversation, idea validation etc. I hope this year will be a transforming year for you. All the best ๐Ÿ‘

These thread has some bunch of amazing skills and goals that hopefully, I'd love to tackle on in the future. This year, I was able to apply my knowledge in on- and off-page SEO on our website - Instant Logo Design (http://instantlogodesign.com/) But before the year ends, I wanted to dive in technical aspect of SEO, and take part in a better development of our website.

I'd really like to get more into marketing psychology to understand how and why users think the way they do. I think this will help in shaping effective marketing strategies. Another thing I'd like to get to know more about is data analysis or implementing data-driven decisions.

Hi @shreya_r_nambiar, you have chosen some very interesting topics to learn. I wish you all the very best ๐Ÿ‘

Hi Arun, for me the last year has been about gaining more control over my unconscious habits and reduce the number of times I unconsciously reach for my phone - that's why I founded Zario: Digital Wellbeing . This year, I continued in building habits and stated working out four times a week and developed a new morning routine. What is your experience with habits?

@arunpariyar Thank you, Arun! I believe that changing habits is the best way to achieve what you want :) Let me know what you think about Zario :)
    Arun Pariyar
Hi @ondrej_zak, Thank for sharing about Zario. it is undeniable that our habits do end up taking control of us if we are act without consciousness. In my experience I think habits are just like muscle memory you have to build it up and it works for you. I would go as far to say that you can master habit you can master yourself... ha ha. Zario looks interesting I will surely have a look into it. Thanks for again for your comments :)

@ondrej_zak I spent a lot of the first two months of the year working on better habits. I've eliminated some, but definitely not all, of these unconscious habits. A big reminder to myself: What if you just went for a run instead of scrolling Tik Tok? Coupled with this was understanding that micro changes or actions add up in the long run, that change is not an overnight thing. Those one-mile runs became an easy five-mile run in a few months. Similar changes have happened at work.

Hi Arun! Thanks for this thread. This year I started working as a marketer at Invoice Maker by Saldo Apps and was really excited about studying SEO, but on February 24th, Russia invaded my country, so I had to move to Spain and proceed with working and studying here. But obviously, now I have much less time to dedicate to studying SEO. Hopefully, as time goes by, I will solve all of my "refugee issues" and figure out how to spend more time on SEO so that by the end of the year, I will be able to come back home, to peaceful Ukraine, as a skilled SEO specialist!
    Arun Pariyar
Hi @ilona_kazakova, while it makes me sad to read your story I also find it admirable and inspiring that you are not straying away from your goals. I am sure I speak for everyone here that we all wish for peace to return to Ukraine. I wish you all the best and I believe that you will manage learning about SEO by the end of the year from your commitment towards it ๐Ÿ‘

I used the pandemic to finish a degree in IT and start a masters in business. So, for me, its been a lot of data & business classes this year. SQL & Tableau and marketing analytics have been my favorites but cybersec is a close second,
    Arun Pariyar
Wow @dow_osage if you dont mind me saying you have used your time really wisely and looks to me that you still have plenty you want to get done. Keep going :)

Hi Arun. For me it's the importance of teamwork, trust, support and shared goals. And it all happened, almost magically, in a time as short as 4 months, since I set my new year's resolutions. Today I'm working with a marvelous team, I learned a lot both by myself and with the help of those people. Next, we're going to be releasing our first product soon, so everyone stay tuned! :)
    Arun Pariyar
Hi @etjecode , that was filled with positivity. Teamwork really is at the heart of everything. Happy to hear that you have already met your New Years resolution mine seems to take time but I will get there too. Do share more about your product so we can support you on launch day ๐Ÿš€

Hi Arun, this year was full of changes. Definitely, what I have learned was to accept changes and move on. This year I have started to learn SEO and work in a great start-up company. And my wish is to be a skilled SEO professional by the end of this year and achieve a lot of success.
