i would say.... not being afraid to ask questions, start discussions, and reaching out using other types of social media! I was completely surprised at how warm the community was.

You need to have audience at least a few in order to make it to the top list on ProductHunt homepage.
If you have a few, try launching on weekends because of less competition.
