Hey, hunters!
Many of us work from home or in a hybrid system. If that's your case: what's your favorite perk of working from home?
My top reasons:
- Wearing comfy clothes π
- Avoiding the commute π
- Being able to travel! βοΈ I'm currently in Europe for a month, and that wouldn't have been possible if I worked in-office.

Being able to properly manage my multiple disabilities without having to ask for multiple accommodations that always made me feel βotherβ in traditional workspaces.

dog cuddles and mid day naps!!
All of the above, plus I really like having the ability to take stretching breaks without feeling like a weirdo, to have snacks from my kitchen and to throw something in the oven for dinner before the last meetings of the day.

I can drink matΓ© π§

@martina_hackbartt I'm actually drinking Rosamonte those days. :)
I started drinking matΓ© at the university as I wanted an alternative to coffee. It is now a stable for deep work session.
I actually have a hobby project connected to matΓ©: https://www.facebook.com/LaMateCZ
@fabian_maume Ohhhh my country's national drink!π¦π· It's a great companion while working from home. How did you get to try it?
The ability to
- Take time off whenever I want
- Travel anywhere, anytime
- Run errands when I want. Unlike WFO, where I had to manage all of it either in the morning and during late evenings or during the weekends
- Watch Netflix in the middle of the day
- Sit in comfy clothes all the time
- Stay in a small town, away from the hustle and bustle of a metro city
- Spend a lot of time with my parents
- Invest in my side projects
- Go for gym in the middle of the day, when it's the least crowded
- Avoiding commute
- Going to the gym when it is least crowded
- Working from Beach
Everything you mentioned +
- I can walk my dog when I feel like I need to go outside;
- chatting to my wife when I need moral support (she also WFH);
- eating a nice home cooked meal.
Travel time and expense relief as well as comfy clothes, working in whatever the position instead of just sitting on a single chair!

being able to be flexible with my work (like can throw laundry in during a pomodoro break).
being able to eat much, much healthier by being at home and not eating out/snacking
being able to workout consistently when it works for me

For me, it's all of the reasons you mentioned plus
1. Being able to work on side projects
2. Exploring other things which are not possible while working in-office

@saifrkhaan I don't think so, exploring is part of your growth. The more you increase your knowledge the better you will become and eventually adding more value to the society

@_syed_zubair_ahmed just a general wondering: isn't it doing disservice to the current employer.
@_syed_zubair_ahmed totally agree with you.
The Green Book Project
Funnily enough, I actually work more hours when WFH compared to when I was in an office. I find that I'm actually way more productive WFH because I can take care of personal needs (doing laundry, running to the bank, etc.) as they come up rather than having to hold off on everything until the workday ends.
Going where I please, as long as I have a personal hotspot and decent connection.
Plan your daily schedule in a more comfortable way for you

Saving money, eating home cooking whenever I want, walking my puppy, and the most important reason using my own bathroom.
Outdone
@gabe_moronta easily making and eating home cooked meals for lunch is such a huge perk!

- The midday naps are one of the best things for me.
- Also, being able to work my convenient hours β early mornings, it's surprising how much work I get done during these hours.
- Being around my cat all the time.
- Avoid the commute and traffic jam
@anil_meena21 Ohhh, we'd love to see a pic of your cat! We just posted a thread on twitter where people can share pics of their pets invading their offices :) https://twitter.com/_reskript/st...

Yes, not time waste in commuting, can work any time we want.
The most important thing for me is that I'm most productive when working from home.

My espresso machine and coffee selection is far superior to the office ones.
@peterlada And so much cheaper than having it outside!
