What's the last book you read that had nothing to do with work but inspired you nonetheless?

I like to read about successful people, it motivates me to reach that level.

The book You've Reached Sam by Dustin Thao inspired me in many ways. The story of Julie Clarke, a teenage girl who loses her boyfriend Sam in a car accident and then magically gains a final opportunity to speak to him through phone calls, is both heartbreaking and hopeful. It explores the complex emotions of grief, loss, and second chances in a way that is both honest and relatable.

"Masters of Doom" by David Kushner. It's a book focused on the early years of id Software, the developers of "Doom", John Romero and John Carmack. These two men created a whole video game genre, earned tons of money and then went onto separate paths. A really interesting story about two completely different people that together were unstoppable. It vividly illustrates the idea that great artists cannot work together without compromise and that we need to listen to each other.
The book is written in a light and fun way, it's like watching a really well-made documentary.
