Software developers or product managers often forget the level of internet proficiency of the audience who will be using the software they're developing, and they end up developing everything from their own perspective. I think this is a huge mistake. It's best to never start with the assumption that "they can probably figure this out," and instead develop something as simple as possible. This approach yields the best results.
