Marketing is so tough.

Because it requires so much effort over time to get the traction needed. Hitting #1 Product of The Day is not luck. It's pure effort.

From a personal front, it can be mental load / stress, but from a professional / company perspective, it's the people - hiring, managing, growing, and parting.
Jeff Fajans
@tom_s_lee Do you find the mental load and stress leads to worse decisions? Or what effect does it have (good or bad)?
Tom Lee
@jefffajans think the worst part is that sometimes I dont know I've made a worse decision until I'm better off / rested in the future. It def makes me near-sighted and lazy and lead to shallower thought-process pre-decision making
Jeff Fajans
@tom_s_lee Makes sense. What do you do to prevent or lessen the stress?

I voted other, I feel the majority of makers I know struggle to validate their idea. Most makers I know spend 1-3 months building, then launch and get 1-5 customers. (Hopefully paid, but really depends.) I'm a huge fan of pre-sales and MVPs after watching this go down a bunch of times.

@esus Any favorite tips or strategies on pre-sales?

For me it is marketing and bringing my product to the people

I think two things. Building something customers want and then finding customers for their products through good marketing.

@oginokairan Yesss I strong team means everything. Whether it's for increasing the weight of a launch product or making a product to address a user need.
For me it was so far consistency, keeping my self motivated and on track has been really hard so far.
Jeff Fajans
@msmello How do you keep yourself motivated? What causes getting off track for you?

consistency is a big one. showing up every day, pushing through doubt and fatigue. then there's iterating based on feedback while not getting swayed away from your core vision. navigating user expectations vs. what's technically feasible. and yah, the never-ending quest of balancing growth with sustainability. quite the ride, this maker journey.
