Then they understand not what we are saying, but what we actually want to say.

They can already do that. There are AI models that can detect micro-expressions on your face to read emotions.

As machines become emotional intelligent, they may revolutionize industries from advertising to healthcare. But privacy and ethical concerns remain.

The ability of machines to read and interpret human emotions has the potential to bring about significant changes in a variety of fields, including healthcare, education, marketing, and entertainment. On the positive side, emotion-reading technology could enable more personalized and responsive experiences in various industries. For example, in healthcare, it could help doctors and nurses to better understand patients' emotional states, leading to more effective treatment plans. In education, it could help teachers tailor their lessons to the emotional needs of their students, enhancing learning outcomes. In the business world, emotion-reading technology could be used in marketing to understand how customers feel about products and services, allowing companies to create more targeted and effective marketing campaigns. It could also be used in customer service to better understand customers' emotions and resolve issues more effectively. However, there are also potential negative consequences of this technology. There are concerns around privacy and the collection of sensitive personal information. Additionally, there are concerns that emotion-reading technology could be used to manipulate or exploit people's emotions for commercial or political gain. Overall, the development of emotion-reading technology raises important ethical questions that need to be addressed as it becomes more prevalent in our lives. It is essential to ensure that these technologies are developed and used in an ethical and responsible way, with the protection of individuals' privacy and autonomy as a top priority.

Machines already can read emotions. One of the ways it does it is called Semantic analysis. I launched an AI Deep Search solution on Sunday that generates rankings based on human emotions (semantics). Check it out on my profile! 🙏

I mean sentiment analysis has been around for ever. I wouldn’t go so far as doom and gloom just because it’s becoming and automized process. As of now semantic LLM are pretty much market default. The main use case seems to be to help humans express their emotions to other humans without miscommunication - the root to many catastrophes and wars. ✌️

The same as when humans can read out emotions, they will either take advantage of you or help you take advantage of others
