I can't give advice but I can tell you what worked for me. I lost 20 pounds by:
1. Get a fitness tracker (mine is Apple Watch bc my wife bought it for me :)
2. Get my daily steps up to 10,000 (this took time and learning to remind myself to move around)
3. Start working out for at least 20 minutes 2 days per week and then going on a walk at least one more day a week. (I now work out 3 days per week but walk less than I should)
4. Count calories for a few weeks to teach myself what it looks/feels like to be in a slight caloric deficit.
5. Find a fun outdoor hobby to do with friends or family and get moving once a month with that (this is for spring/summer/fall, its cold here nowadays).
So I did those above, in that order, and have slowly been losing weight since.
