Hi all, I will be launching a subscription service that helps businesses grow using the Pinterest platform through a process that's async, trackable, and scalable. This will be my first product launch on Product Hunt. I would to hear how you've generated hype for your product during pre-launch!

I would say get on every social platform that you think anyone interested in your product and/or about your journey building the product can be found and let them know about it. Some ideas: 1. Launch a post here about your product. Better if it’s posed as/with a question so that you get more engagement. 2. Post on relevant Reddit communities. 3. Keep posting on Twitter about it using hashtags of communities that might find it interesting. 4. Post on IndieHackers etc 5. Don’t feel shy to reach out to ppl in these communities directly. They can be your biggest promoters if they like you and the product. Hope this helps!

@navinpeiris Thousand thanks Navin for the great information! Will definitely implement these into my pre-launch strategy.

I've launched a few products in the last 5 years (outside Product Hunt). I've fabricated hype, I've paid for hype, I've sold hype. One learning I've had is that if it is not organic, if people don't absolutely LOVE it, if you don't create value - the product will fail. I'm not saying marketing is not important. It is. But sometimes we get to absorbed with other stuff and forget about the user. @navan seems to provide good feedback.

@macorin Great point on focusing on the user, as you mentioned it's very easy to get wrapped up in other areas. Thanks for sharing :)
