Always leaning towards product due to the ability to scale.
But starting out with product is really hard as many people want to see successful use cases, case studies, etc. I found a done-for-you (DFY) approach a good way to solve the cold-start problem so I've been manually onboarding new users and setting up consultation work with some clients (which includes them using my product).
So far I've secured 3 different clients this way through the consultation method. I know it doesn't scale but it beats having 0 clients...
So I guess a mix is good at least for the start.

@raymond_yeh You said it so well! We talked about it here if you want to check out : https://youtu.be/6130FfDWXOI?si=...
minimalist phone: creating folders
If products sell well, so products. :)
@busmark_w_nika That's the most difficult part right? ;)
minimalist phone: creating folders
@alviani_nuragnia It can be any product when you know how to market it (and where you know how to create a desire/need for it) :)
Products
@neelptl2602 Just because :) I like to see something tangible I've created in the market.
I lean towards a service business because I enjoy working directly with clients and offering personalized solutions.
@idris_saidu That's great
Productised Service, anytime.
@harshil_patel03 You in for lonnnggg ass term!
I’d go for a service business. It feels more flexible and I can adapt quickly to what clients need.
@emily__walker Oh yes. They don't scale easy for sure.
For me, a product business seems more sustainable in the long run. It allows for more passive income, which is a big draw.
@mukesh_kumar_das We talked about it here - https://youtu.be/6130FfDWXOI?si=...
Patience is the game for products!
Service businesses allow for strong relationships with clients, which I find really rewarding. I’d probably choose that route.
@uttam_kumar_bree That's great.
I personally lean towards services. They adapt to my needs and offer a level of personalization that products sometimes lack.
@james_chappel That makes sense. There are drawbacks too that we discussed in detail if you want to check out: https://youtu.be/6130FfDWXOI?si=...
I'm definitely more into products. I love having something I can physically hold and use whenever I want.
I’d pick a product business. Once it’s perfected, it can practically sell itself and reach a wider audience.
@christian_onochie makes sense
Honestly, it depends on the market. If there’s a strong demand for a specific service or product, that’s what I’d go for.
Launching soon!
@cerca_hedgecock Could you share an experience if you ever had to choose between the two?
Launching soon!
Product, hands down! After all, you can’t spell "productivity" without "product." 😉
Product-based service
I'll say service because from what I see (where the people around me are freelances) it's very flexible and the best part is where they can have more time for themselves, family, hobby, etc
Products, include standard and customized products
Speech to Note
Service and the Product.
@abhishek_ux makes perfect sense :)
Products are best for me
