But for a long time, the team concentrated on the "what," not "how." So, until recently, the squad has no understanding of what and for whom this product is, what alternatives are out there, or where MVP should start and end. One of the things that helped us with the last one (besides proper market research and target audience defining) was figuring out Product Core Values - something that we believe in and want our product to reflect. Each time we decide whether to add a feature to the scope, we ask ourselves a question - will it improve the product in a way that straightens one of those statements? Of course, there are more questions we ask while creating a backlog or prioritizing it. But this one definitely helps a lot.
