How did you go about product-market fit and user research?

    A remote working solution.
    A remote working solution.
We first built the product for internal use and, when we started getting positive feedback and people asking to build a virtual office for them, we knew we are on to something. Then we released the first version and got a lot of positive feedback - that got the founding team thinking about scaling and global expansion.

We took a look at the competition and based our product along similar lines while including significant differentiating value. Essentially, we used the competition as a baseline to ensure that there is ample market interest and then added elements that are productive to the specific experience we're trying to build. Additionally, we did a ton of market research manually from direct users and people who are generally in the space.

Here's a really great article on finding product market fit from the founder of Superhuman. We recently adopted this method. It's very applicable to Scribe since our product works for any persona (one of our biggest opportunities but also very challenging for marketing!) -- we're constantly talking with and surveying our users to figure out areas where we have strong product market fit, be it a use case or persona and doubling down on those specific themes. https://review.firstround.com/ho...

Lots of research! Reading reviews from similar ideas is quite helpful. Also 1-1 conversations with the target audience to find that MVP.

We've analyzed the current smartphone apps market searching for apps with certain keywords. Then evaluated their traffic, reach, users, ads, communities, etc. etc. We did it in a pretty simple way but depends on your product. Btw, we’re launching in late May. Check out our upcoming PH page: www.producthunt.com/upcoming/eff... Our project is called: Effecto. It’s an app for detailed health tracking. Pretty much for everything that is related to your physical or mental health and every daily factor that can affect you.

I recommend user interviews, @ojelola_ojelabi > Start mining 20-50 prospects on LinkedIn and offer them something in exchange for a quick 15' interview (early access, gift card, $$, 1-month access). Record the interviews, you will need them.

I dont personally think you have product market fit until you have a market paying for your product. Launch, use the marketing strategies you design, and be open to feedback.
