Do announce it EVERYWHERE Andrew, the worst thing you could do for your launch is to be shy! The support you can get from announcing your launch on LinkedIn depends a lot on your audience - is it mainly corporate network from lets say your previous jobs or are these people from the startup community (these are more likely to be registered here on PH). Also remember, only the votes of the people who are registered at least 7 days ago are counted in as upvotes. So better to announce couple of weeks beforehand so that people can register here in advance
